A Post That Is New

Sunday, September 25, 2011

I believe that this is true, and it scares me. Sweatpants are ugly monstrous clothing. I don't own any. I do however own yoga pants. To prevent slipping into sweatpants land, I shall not even be dating. This shall be starting now.

Life Lesson # 1

Today I learned that if you use your only blanket as a cape and lose it, you will not have a blanket to sleep with.

Blood ( An Update About My Life)

Saturday, September 24, 2011

So... This week I was turned down to give blood; however, two days later the doctors were taking vials of blood from me. Apparently my blood might hold the secret of why I have been so sick. So.. now I just have to wait 6 days to get the results.

Some Vegan Stuff

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

So I have been keeping to my vegan diet and trying to cut out unnecessary chemicals from my life.

Let me tell you something.

Chemicals taste good.

This only has peanuts in it. It tastes like shit

This has a bunch of stuff that I cannot pronounce it in. It taste amazing.

Needless to say, I am still eating chemicals. But don't be too disappointed in me. I am eating a balanced diet for what maybe the first time in my life. As a result I have put on a whole 15 pounds. Ha ha. opps. It's ok. I am now in the healthy BMI range. Plus I bet a good amount of that is muscle gained from marathon training and yoga....

I  might be the only person ever to gain weight by becoming vegan.

Memory Lane

Monday, September 19, 2011

I was reading the news, when an article about crows and their intelligence appeared. I was instantly reminded of high school when I wanted to get a tattoo saying "I'm a Crow" on my foot.

So here is the article for ya'll

Crows can use mirrors

So that is my moment of thinking about the stupid actions I was lucky enough not to do.

YOU ARE STRIVING TO BE SPONTANEOUS
You are an adventurer: Action-oriented, curious, outgoing, and often technically gifted, you live for new experiences. You are drawn to risk-taking and aren't afraid to fail. Generally restless, you tend to job-hop or choose a field that offers constant novelty. If you had to name your favorite place, it might be the center of attention—you're a born entertainer, and can easily adapt to any audience. While you collect many acquaintances, you're less likely to develop deep, committed relationships.

What to watch out for: When you can't satisfy your thirst for variety and excitement, you may see yourself as trapped, which can lead to impulsive and self-destructive behavior—drinking, drugs, breaking off relationships, ditching financial responsibilities. Try to find value in some traditions; if you learn to appreciate repetitive experiences, you won't always feel the urge to bust free. And when a new opportunity thrills you, keep in mind that just because it sounds exciting, that doesn't mean it's good for you.

Looking ahead: Life will have meaning for you as long as you feel stimulated. That might mean chasing twisters, exploring the polar ice caps, getting a degree in dance therapy, or becoming an astronaut. It might also mean reading new books, attending workshops, or letting yourself get swept up in an intoxicating romance. As a risk-lover with a lot of energy, you're a natural entrepreneur. You'll be happiest if you change jobs every so often and travel extensively. Movement is what keeps you going.

Internet Life

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

In real life, I went from not sleeping for two weeks to being poisoned by raw lima beans and living in ashy air because of a forest fire.

Here what is going on in my online life.

The Cancun Agreement has me upset because it is kind of a joke.

Keats' On The Sea

Saturday, September 10, 2011

It keeps eternal whisperings around
Desolate shores, and with its mighty swell
Gluts twice ten thousand Caverns, till the spell
Of Hecate leaves them their old shadowy sound.
Often 'tis in such gentle temper found,
That scarcely will the very smallest shell
Be moved for days from where it sometime fell.
When last the winds of Heaven were unbound.
Oh, ye! who have your eyeballs vexed and tired,
    Feast them upon the wideness of the Sea;
Oh ye! whose ears are dinned with uproar rude,
Or fed too much with cloying melody---
Sit ye near some old Cavern's Mouth and brood,
Until ye start, as if the sea nymphs quired!

Me Reports

I just read there is going to be a colony of people living on mars....... like in 20-30 years

PETA wants them to be vegan...

It's something to think about. I don't think animals were meant to be on mars. We have seen problems before importing animals to where they don't belong. But I guess we are also shipping humans to where they don't belong.

The guy in charge putting the colony on mars said  "I'm a big fan of free choice for any future Martian colony. That said, it is likely that early Mars colonists would have a mostly vegetable diet, because of the energy and space needed to raise farm animals"

I am not sure how they plan to get the veggies. Grocery runs? Growing them?

My final thought on this is - The 60's can finally be proud of us.

ME Update

So what's with all the post recently?

Answer One.
In the last two week I have slept less than five hours. Normally I sleep but every now and then catch this sleeplessness and I just can't sleep. When that happens I do this stuff. Then I search the internet. Finally I feel like I should talk to someone. But normal people sleep. So I blog and schedule the post to publish at a normal human time. Lately I don't care. I bet you can tell. I need sleep.

Answer Two.
Thesis and International Relations require a lot of reading about some not so nice stuff. To offset reading about starvation and protesting, I read an article about how the American crocodile has African DNA or the onion. Then I feel like I have to share my findings. So there ya go. Information for ya'll and I don't have to annoy my facebook friend.

I have to roll out of bed in less than four hours to go run 13 miles.

Here is some news for you...

I am in love

In case you haven't heard I am in love. It hit me suddenly today as I was looking up a model of a bat to draw and I found to Honduran white bat. It's a fruit bat and it makes tent out of heliconia leaves.

Guess where this bat lives?

Nicaragua

Guess who already is going to Nicaragua in January?

ME

So I am pretty excited that I might actually get to see one of these bats in person.

Now some pictures taken at the boston zoo with no information because thats how this post is gonna roll

This is an awesome bird

Its a hippopotamus with no noodles on its back, no noodles on its back. This pygmy hippo lacked noodles and didn't sing.

I can sing the chorus in German. Cause I rock

Buzzard

sleepy kitty

Ok. So I am quite sure that this is the stork that dropped me off when I was little and that is why I am so awesome.

This is a bat. Bats are awesome. Bats are amazing. I could give you some facts why but that would break my no effort rule. But they are third on my reincarnation list.

And to end this effortless horrible post I will say I need sleep

Baby It's Cold Outside

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Life if full of choices. Some are simple like what to eat for lunch. Some are more complicated like where to  move to begin your adult life. Believe it or not I am an adult. I firmly believed my life would be set in Boston working for a children publishing company. But as I sit in my room with the heat on as high as it will go, I am thinking maybe I am not supposed to be in the cold. It's only 60 degrees in Wisconsin, yet I am ready once again to hibernate. Maybe it's because I grew up on the edge of the South,  maybe it's because I spend a lot of time in Florida, or maybe I am just a wimp. I am sure as soon as it starts getting really cold I will toughen up.

Well I am going to celebrate national read a book day with the cure and my new book

I've been everywhere

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Jersey, Philly, and Baltimore. Then Naples, Boston, Chicago, and Milwaukee. In the last three weeks it feels like I have been living in airports. I never thought I would ever tire of traveling but I am kind of actually looking forward to staying in one place for awhile.

A New Way Saying Sorry

Friday, September 2, 2011

Apparently the new way of saying sorry is to offer a pickle. I don't know who decided giving a pickled cucumber is a good way to ask for forgiveness, but I have two pickles and I am a happy camper.
