Disney Princesses' Horses- Samson

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

A lot of people find my blog by googling "disney princess horse" and find my post about how none of the princess actually own a horse. In order to do something helpful to my internet friends, I decided to write about the horses in Disney Princess movies.

First up Samson - from Sleeping Beauty.

Samson doesn't talk and he really own has one scene where he shows his personality. We get to see he knows his way home and gets upset if Prince Philip deviates from his route. But he can be convinced with carrots.

Here is his scene

Princess Adventure Update

Friday, August 5, 2011

This princess took a break from her busy life of busyness to take a trip to the zoo. The zoo give me a chance to bond with animals - an essential Disney Princess quality.

The zoo closest to my house is the Naples Zoo. It is full of animals and plants but still small enough that it is not overwhelming. Which is good, because I have a tendency to wonder off and get left places. Stragglers at zoos get feed to the animals. Its true. I was told many years ago when I was a little girl.

My favorite animals to see are the little Wallabies. I make sure to stop by and see them every visit. The are playful things that hop around their exhibit when there are not sleeping.I was lucky enough to have one wallaby hop towards me to have its picture taken. I think that is a sign that we are becoming friends.

Across from the wallabies are two bears.  I know bears are wild, dangerous, and could kill me if they please, but I cannot look at them without thinking of Paddington and Pooh. When they climb in little pools, like this bear did, it is easy to imagine them as a part of your family. But then I remember these are not teddy bears, nor are they from a retirement center in darkest Peru.

In the zoo, the tiny zoo the lion sleeps today.

The weather was extremely hot. I believe over 100. So most of the animals were inactive. But it made for some interesting photos.

Thats me feeding a giraffe I always have wondered what it would be like to be that tall, but then the image of Alice eating the cake and her necking growing extremely long.

The porcupine meet me for the first time. Normally  he is asleep when I visit but not today. I predict we will be great friends and visit each other often.

The coyote or a cute kitten eater. Its pretty awesome
I am not exactly sure what this animal is. It is either a monkey or not a monkey. Which is true of everything on Earth. Next time you see an object or creature ask yourself "is this a monkey, or is this not a monkey?"

This is a monkey and it is sticking its tongue out at you. You can either be offended or stick your tongue out back. Which will you choose?

When I said the wallabies where my favorite animal at the zoo, I wasn't lying. But I wasn't telling the exact truth. Please forgive my unprincess like behavior I will try to improve.

When I saw the ocelot, It was love at first sight. I was sure we would be friends and wanted one as a pet.

However, animals that are going extinct because of fur coats are not usually allowed to be household pets.

Lesson from this story fur is bad.

Also this animal hunts animals that are bigger than me. I don't think that makes for a great relationship. Food prey relationships just don't work out. Look at Finding Nemo. But the cat is cute.

Plus wild animals belong in the wild and domesticated animals such as humans belong in homes.  Its kind of like Romeo and Juliet. Cross those lines and everyone dies.

After moving on from the hopes that the ocelot and me were going to be friends, I found out this beautiful cat already had a human friend.
Apparently this cat only has room in its life for one human friend. Fine. Whatever. I am so over it. I have the wallaby

Oh in case you wanted a bit of trivia, the genius that is Salvador Dali had a pet ocelot. They sailed the ocean together. Dali's life is a surreal as his art.

That was my trip to the zoo. I didn't get to see the snakes this trip. Maybe next trip. I was also told you can see a scorpion. So fingers crossed that next trip I get to see that. I would like to see one before I start living among them.

I love the zoo. I feel almost like I am in One Hundred Acre Wood. I get to visit each animal in their home and say hello. They can either respond back or ignore me but still its an adventure.

Princess Update

Friday, July 29, 2011

Dear you,

You might have been wondering what I have been doing since I last updated. Maybe you were not wondering. But I am going to tell you anyways.

I finished two summer classes. I wrote 2,000 words a week on works by Milton, Chaucer, and George Hurbert. I took tests on grammer and listened to lectures. Even though I spent eight hours a week commuting to classes, I passed with flying colors.

I drove to Baltimore and flew to Florida to see family.

I cooked food. yummy yummy food. Plus I ate dozens of waffles.

I bought a strawberry plant.

I watched Beauty and The Beast (1946). This movie was magical. I can't blame disney for being inspired by this film. But this movie presented a problem, Beauty and the Beast fly away in the end. Disney Princesses cannot fly. So, to inspire a Disney movie all I have to do is learn to fly. Silly Disney, I can't fly. Not fair.

I watched the old spice battle. It made me happy.

That is what I have been doing.

Love,
ME

I Am Certainly A Disney Princess

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

I have been busy analyzing data and I have found something truly stunning. Not a single Disney Princess owns a horse. Guess What! I don't own a horse. That must mean that I am Disney Princess.

This is stunning data. Almost every Disney Princess movie has a horse, one princess must of owned a horse. But no. They are all horseless.

In Snow White, the Prince rode a horse.

In Sleeping Beauty, Samson was Prince Philip's horse

In Beauty and The Beast, Belle's Father owns Philip

In Tangled, Maximus belongs to the lead guard

In my life, the horse belongs to the farm across the street.

Editha Is Not Just A Large Wasp or I Am Not A SelfIsh Princess

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Today I read William D Howells' short story Editha. It is beautifully written and made me think.

Let me give you a spark notes version: Editha is a woman who has these ideals in her head that she wants to live out. She wants to be in a romantic novel. War breaks out. She is happy. How grand! Her love, George, is all war is horrible. Editha talks him into going. he dies. She wears black and get deathly ill. His mama is all its your fault, don't you wear black. Editha gets her portrait painted. the end. (I wrote my summary like a soap opera)

So I was thinking... What if people think I am like Editha? I too live this fantasy world acting out the part of my favorite genre. I don't want to end up having someone die for my dream world so I am making a disclaimer.

Disclaimer

If kidnapped by a huge scary fire breathing dragon, I do not except you to charging on a horse to slay the dragon.

If I get pricked on my finger by a needle and end up falling asleep, you do not have to kiss me if you do not want to.

If I end up lost in the woods and invite myself into your house to clean and sleep, you do not have to invite me to stay. You may also call the police.

If I eat a poisonous apple, you do not have to carry my dead body back to your castle. You do not have to kiss my corpse.

If I lose my shoe, you do not have to run all over town to return my shoe to me. You also don't have to marry me.

If I change my appearance to chase after you, you don't have to kiss me.

If I leave to see my father, you don't have to get sick and die.

If I am kept captive in a tall tower, you don't have climb it to save me.

If you sing a song with me, you don't have to marry me.

However, if you want to do anything listed......... I won't stop you.

Magic Is For Villains Only

Saturday, April 16, 2011

I have reached the point in my life when I just have to face it. I just have to accept it. I just have to learn to deal with the fact that I do not have nor will I be receiving magic powers. I do not know why this is so hard to face, no other Disney Princess has magic powers.

No magic powers are for villains only. I can sit in class and try to make the folder with test in them elevate but it just won't happen, because only evil character can use magic, and I am not evil. I am a Disney Princess.

This is one problem about the genre that my life falls into. Magic is super cool. Why should Harry Potter and everyone at Miss Crackle's Academy have all the fun.

Disney correct this please.

Evidence In The Case Of The Disney Princess

Monday, April 4, 2011

Disney Princess are known for their singing, dancing and grace. It is no accident that I sing and dance. I took ballet when I was little and that grace has remained with me my entire life. Indeed, I fall on my face and spill water on my lap with grace. If I can do these simple task with grace just wait until a task that actually requires grace comes my way.

I dance whenever I hear music no matter my location or who is watching. Embarrass myself? I think not. Those who are embarrassed are those with me but are too timid to join in. I don't dance in any one style, instead I let the music speak to me. Although if I am ever called to display my waltzing skills I could, because I am a Disney Princess. (And I took lessons over the summer)

I also sing. This, like dancing, I do anytime and anyplace. Whenever the need for song occurs, I am there with relief. I know a large variety of songs and I also make songs up to fit occasions.

I Like Princess Costumes
Disney please see that I am truly a Princess and give me what is rightfully mine. A movie. Please?

Proof That Im A Disney Princess

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Animals love Disney Princesses. The Beast fell in love with Belle. Snow White had animals help her clean dishes and Aurora has many woodland animals friends to listen to her sing. Cinderella was friends with mice. and Arial's best friend was a fish. Rapunzel's companion was a chameleon and she also befriended the guard's horse. Then there is Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog who turned into a frog and married a frog.
This masterpiece was colored by me on my phone. Fear my talent.

Animals love me. Crazy cats and bunnies that don't like other people will calmly let me hold them. I have had untrained parakeets perch on my finger. Soon after I moved to Florida, a mocking bird made its nest outside my window.  The mockingbird sang to me as soon as the sun started to rise and all through the day. Ducks will fly over to where I stand and eat out of my hand. (I am positive that the fact that I have food has nothing to do with why thet visit me.)
A baby duck that waddled towards me. (Not given bread)

I am also the Queen of the Squirrels. I know this because last week as I was walking to class one ran up to me and paused. The squirrel then lowered its front to paws causing it to bow towards me. Squirrels only bow to their queen. That's a fact.

A squirrel that is depressed because a screen separates us.

Animals love Disney Princesses. Animals love me. Therefore I am a Disney Princess

Disney, I am waiting for my movie.
