Yoga and Me

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

This week I went to yoga every single day.

 Impressed?

No?

What if I told you that every other day I went twice a day?

Impressed now?

Thats what I have been doing this week. A whole lot of yoga. I love yoga. It stretches you out and relaxes you while working out your ENTIRE body. Plus it is basically grown up simon says. Unlike simon says, you always win. Which is good. Cause I ALWAYS lost at simon says.

So I love yoga... Which leads to my story.

So my yoga instructor said you can not grow while rooted in fantasy. I am completely rooted in fantasy. In a single class, I imagined I was a summa wrestler, a bank robber, and a ninja. But the idea of not being able to grow in fantasy land won't leave me alone.... Is this why everyone thinks I am twelve?

What I Want To Be When I Grow Up

When I grow up, and being a little shy of 22 I am almost completely grown up, I want to be Jeannie. I want to wear harem pants and a little hat. I think I would be great at causing chaos by blinking.

Dear world, consider this my application.....

Dear Santa,

I am not really a fan of your holiday, but I think you might be able to bride me with a certain gift.

Love Always,

I Swear I Am A Grown Up

Sunday, August 21, 2011

Every now and then, I have a boring day. Every now and then people won't talk to me (because they are busy living their own life) It's ok. It happens to everyone.

I have the solution.

When life gets boring and start feeling neglected I start meowing like a kitty. People can ignore humans talking but few will ignore a full size person meowing. If they do ignore me, I will crawl onto their lap and purr. That always gets peoples attention... but always in the best way.

Anyways that my solution... I only do it maybe once a year because I want people to view me as a grown up.

fuzzy tails and rough toughs,

ME

Fighting Sleepiness?

Friday, August 19, 2011

Need to stay awake for a couple of hours? Need to stay awake all night? We have all been there. Maybe we were writing a paper due the next day, fighting jet lag, or maybe we are in some horror movie where if you sleep you die. I think there is a horror movie like that out there..... but I am not allowed to watch those types of movies. Anyways I have some tips on staying awake without caffeine.

Tip One. Keep moving. If you are writing a paper take a walk down the hall at least once every thirty minutes. If you are not confined to a desk for most of your time; wonder around the city, your room, your house, whatever.

Tip Two. Snack on healthy foods like celery or apples. It gives you energy.

Tip three. Bright lights. Pretend you are in a Vegas Casino and turn every light on. Close all the windows. This throws off your internal clock.

Tip Four. Pretend to be a super spy. Run around, hid behind chairs, and practice your ninja roll. Get your adrenaline pumping.

Super Spy Music = Muse- Time Is Running Out

Tip Five. Music. Upbeat. Pop. Music.

My playlist

Selena Gomez - Love You Like A Love Song

Kerli - Army of Love

Ke$ha - Blow (My Favorite Music Video Ever)

Lilly Allen - Not Fair

Aly & Aj - Potential Breakup Song

Disney Princesses' Horses- Samson

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

A lot of people find my blog by googling "disney princess horse" and find my post about how none of the princess actually own a horse. In order to do something helpful to my internet friends, I decided to write about the horses in Disney Princess movies.

First up Samson - from Sleeping Beauty.

Samson doesn't talk and he really own has one scene where he shows his personality. We get to see he knows his way home and gets upset if Prince Philip deviates from his route. But he can be convinced with carrots.

Here is his scene

Can't Sleep?

Monday, August 15, 2011

One the many things wrong with me is the fact that I frequently am unable to sleep. So I decided to compile a list of things I do when I can't sleep that you can use if you are even in a similar situation.

1) Construct a panda costume

It will help hide the dark circles
2) Try to imagine yourself as a productive member of society. If you are a productive member of society try to imagine a 22 year old who still pretends to be a disney princess trying to find a job. I usually start with picturing myself dressed up as Ariel (The Little Mermaid) working in an office.

3) Do leg lifts then work out your abs. If you can't sleep you can certainly get into shape.

4) Text an epicly long story to a friend. Don't worry about quality. Stories that are made up at 4:45 am are always outstanding.

5) Create playlist for every situation in your life. Examples are: finding a time machine playlist, a playlist for being chased by a murder, a my ex will regret breaking up with me playlist, and staring at random stranger playlist.

ME's Can't Sleep Playlist

Owl City - Fireflies
E for Explosion- I Explode
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - 40 Day Dream
Rise Against - Swing Life Away
The Used- Dark Days
Mates of State - Only Offer (video creeps me out... I don't know why...)
Pomplamoose- Sandman (the second half of the video is just them talking)
Marjorie Fair- Empty Room
Acceptance-So Contagious
Mae - The Ocean
The Matches - To Build A Mountain (song plays twice in video)

A Quote For You

Monday, August 8, 2011

"Milo continued to think of all sorts of things; of the many detours and wrong turns that were so easy to take, of how fine it was to be moving along, and, most of all, of how much could be accomplished with just a little thought."

Princess Adventure Update

Friday, August 5, 2011

This princess took a break from her busy life of busyness to take a trip to the zoo. The zoo give me a chance to bond with animals - an essential Disney Princess quality.

The zoo closest to my house is the Naples Zoo. It is full of animals and plants but still small enough that it is not overwhelming. Which is good, because I have a tendency to wonder off and get left places. Stragglers at zoos get feed to the animals. Its true. I was told many years ago when I was a little girl.

My favorite animals to see are the little Wallabies. I make sure to stop by and see them every visit. The are playful things that hop around their exhibit when there are not sleeping.I was lucky enough to have one wallaby hop towards me to have its picture taken. I think that is a sign that we are becoming friends.

Across from the wallabies are two bears.  I know bears are wild, dangerous, and could kill me if they please, but I cannot look at them without thinking of Paddington and Pooh. When they climb in little pools, like this bear did, it is easy to imagine them as a part of your family. But then I remember these are not teddy bears, nor are they from a retirement center in darkest Peru.

In the zoo, the tiny zoo the lion sleeps today.

The weather was extremely hot. I believe over 100. So most of the animals were inactive. But it made for some interesting photos.

Thats me feeding a giraffe I always have wondered what it would be like to be that tall, but then the image of Alice eating the cake and her necking growing extremely long.

The porcupine meet me for the first time. Normally  he is asleep when I visit but not today. I predict we will be great friends and visit each other often.

The coyote or a cute kitten eater. Its pretty awesome
I am not exactly sure what this animal is. It is either a monkey or not a monkey. Which is true of everything on Earth. Next time you see an object or creature ask yourself "is this a monkey, or is this not a monkey?"

This is a monkey and it is sticking its tongue out at you. You can either be offended or stick your tongue out back. Which will you choose?

When I said the wallabies where my favorite animal at the zoo, I wasn't lying. But I wasn't telling the exact truth. Please forgive my unprincess like behavior I will try to improve.

When I saw the ocelot, It was love at first sight. I was sure we would be friends and wanted one as a pet.

However, animals that are going extinct because of fur coats are not usually allowed to be household pets.

Lesson from this story fur is bad.

Also this animal hunts animals that are bigger than me. I don't think that makes for a great relationship. Food prey relationships just don't work out. Look at Finding Nemo. But the cat is cute.

Plus wild animals belong in the wild and domesticated animals such as humans belong in homes.  Its kind of like Romeo and Juliet. Cross those lines and everyone dies.

After moving on from the hopes that the ocelot and me were going to be friends, I found out this beautiful cat already had a human friend.
Apparently this cat only has room in its life for one human friend. Fine. Whatever. I am so over it. I have the wallaby

Oh in case you wanted a bit of trivia, the genius that is Salvador Dali had a pet ocelot. They sailed the ocean together. Dali's life is a surreal as his art.

That was my trip to the zoo. I didn't get to see the snakes this trip. Maybe next trip. I was also told you can see a scorpion. So fingers crossed that next trip I get to see that. I would like to see one before I start living among them.

I love the zoo. I feel almost like I am in One Hundred Acre Wood. I get to visit each animal in their home and say hello. They can either respond back or ignore me but still its an adventure.

Why Books Are Amazing

Thursday, August 4, 2011

My book told me this because my chances pf marrying are marginal at best.

After a boring week of Cinderella tasks, I treated myself to some new books. The first book I decided to read is titled Lost in Austen. If you are a fan of Jane Austen, this book will entertain you.
I'm off to finish my Austen adventure. (I hope Mr. Knightly shows up)
